Authenticity

The pieces are authenticated by expert auctioneers, specialized in jewellery or leather goods. This expertise allows the authentication of each piece, its condition and sets its market value. The latter is used to calculate the amount of compensation in the event of loss, theft or irreparable damage.

We collaborate with the prestigious French auction house Millon, founded in 1928 and recognized for its expertise in art and luxury objects.

We have developed a process with high-definition imaging tools that allows us to uniquely identify each piece, and to be able to verify after each rental that the correct piece has been returned and that it is not damaged.

Our high-definition imaging tools allow us to photograph very precisely the elements that make each piece unique (hallmarks, micro-scratches, etc.).

We capture these images for the first time after authentication by the external expert, then after each rental, and we carry out comparisons that allow us to identify whether the elements that make the piece unique are still present.

This process also allows us to identify any new signs of wear that would require repair.

The timeframe may vary slightly depending on the availability of our external experts. Our aim is to complete each authentication within 5 to 7 days following receipt of the item.

If your item is not authentic, it will be returned to you. You will be liable to ORNEST for a lump sum of €100 to cover the costs incurred (transport, authentication, etc.). Our approach is based on transparency and credibility, we will never tolerate counterfeits.
