ORNEST strives to offer a catalog of highly desirable luxury pieces. Our curation is based on criteria of sustainability and timelessness. We are committed to listening to the requests of each of our Members in order to expand our selection according to their expectations.
No item in poor condition will be accepted. If a restoration is needed before renting it out, a quote can be made to the owner.
We have a process in place to ensure the authenticity and security of the pieces. Learn more.
If we identify signs of wear that require the piece to be restored and if this restoration is possible, the piece is sent to one of our workshops and the restoration is carried out at our own costs.
If significant damage occurs, our insurance is called upon to compensate for the replacement value of the piece. Once compensation is received, we can transfer the funds to you or find a replacement piece, depending on your wishes.
In case of loss or theft during a rental, our insurance is requested for compensation up to the replacement value of the piece. Once the compensation is received, we can transfer the funds to you or find a replacement piece, according to your wishes.
The pieces available for rent at ORNEST are valuable; our priority is to maintain their integrity and ensure the satisfaction of our Member clients, both renters and owners.
Our approach to protecting owners is built around three pillars:
- Community: Each renter must undergo a precise identity verification process before being allowed to rent.
- Responsibility: Each renter is aware that they are responsible for the item entrusted to them and that their liability may be engaged up to the replacement value of the item in case of a dispute.
- Insurance: Despite the efforts made, disputes may occur (damage, loss, theft). Each item is insured, guaranteeing the owner reimbursement up to the replacement value of the item or its replacement.
For rental returns, we have developed an authentication method enhanced by high-definition imaging tools that allow us to precisely photograph the elements that make each item unique (hallmarks, micro-scratches, etc.). We capture these images for the first time when an item is entrusted to us, then after each rental, and we perform comparisons that enable us to identify whether the elements that make the item unique are still present, confirming it is indeed the original piece. This process also allows us to identify any potential damage to the item.
Your piece is insured up to its replacement value, as determined by an expert, with no value limit. We collaborate with the prestigious French auction house Millon, founded in 1928 and renowned for its expertise in art and luxury items.

In the event of damage, you will be immediately notified, and restoration will be carried out at no cost to you.
Your earnings will be transferred to the bank account you provided within 3 to 5 days after we receive and inspect your item in our workshop.
The condition of your item is assessed based on the photos and information you provide when requesting a rental listing. This condition is then confirmed through a physical examination upon receipt of the item in our workshop. The examination is conducted by auctioneers specializing in jewelry or leather goods and also helps determine the item's replacement value. This value serves as the reference for calculating compensation in case of loss, theft, or irreparable damage.
We have also developed an enhanced authentication method using high-definition imaging tools, allowing us to capture highly detailed photographs of the elements that make each item unique (hallmarks, micro-scratches, etc.).
These images are first captured after authentication, then after each rental, enabling us to compare and verify whether the unique elements remain unchanged, confirming that it is indeed the original piece. This process also helps identify new signs of wear that may require restoration.
The value of each item is calculated as accurately as possible by an auctioneer who is an expert in jewellery or leather goods based on the model, its condition and its market value at the time of the evaluation.
The rental price is calculated based on the model, the condition of the item, its market value at the time of evaluation, and the rental duration. An estimated price is provided and then confirmed after the item is received and inspected in our workshop.
